American students visit Harper Adams
Posted 6 March 2013
A group of American agribusiness students visited Harper Adams University this week as part of a UK study tour.
The 12 students are enrolled at North Carolina State University on International Agribusiness Management and the tour is a major component of their course.
During their stay, they have visited Smithfields Market and New Spitalfields Market in London and are due to travel to the James Hutton Research Institute and SRUC in Scotland.
Visiting Harper Adams gave the students the chance to learn about UK agriculture as well as the courses and research that takes place at the university in Shropshire.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Mills, said: “We were delighted to welcome the North Carolina State University students to Harper Adams.
“Although an informal visit, we hope we can build on this relationship with the possibility of an exchange scheme in the future.”
Harper Adams students met with the visitors during mealtimes to share stories and discuss the differences between the two universities.
